Spanish Version / English Version There is a connecting thread in the Arts that cuts across all cultural barriers , touching audiences at different emotional levels. It circumvents limitations, transgresses established structures leading us beyond our daily routines. Such is the power of creativity taking shape in every single artistic statement in the broad field of music and the visual arts. Never before have we experienced such feverish acculturation. The massive penetration of the internet, forced or voluntary displacement, overall instability and political developments exert their influence on the paths of creativity. With the fast pace towards globalization, inherent traditions of many cultures that we considered vital at one point, are evolving. Rural populations become absorbed into the urban landscape reinterpreting history with a fresh and dynamic iconography. However, rather than delving into historical heritage, we witness the quest for renewed individual identity markers, through religious, national, cultural or family points of reference. Ai Wei Wei, Raquib Shaw, Shazia Sikander , Ito Barrada, Wengeshi Mutu, to quote but a few from countries submitted to a truly transforming and striking development , have deeply rooted traditions that emerge even though they move in a global perspective. At the same spiritual and not less eloquent level, with an entirely different historical an cultural heritage, Sam Taylor Wood, Bill Viola, Mike Kelly touch the innermost feelings of viewers through the imbricate fabric of their work. Likewise, the purely sensorial intention contained in the work of Olafur Eliasson , James Turrell, Ingo Maurer , the kinetics , makes them belong to the untiring creators having the ability to enhance the powerful magic of the arts to our benefit ..
